Throwing voice (one-sided address)
This video is the filmic resolution to a performance work with many iterations in different locations. For each, I would spend time in a landscape and engage with it, before addressing this landscape in a one sided address via a megaphone. The response received was only an echo of myself. These performances were focused on landscapes of production of energy and capital - a hydroelectric scheme, a copper mine, the gold fields - which have been taken and "mined" in colonial times. The response from the landscape, the echo, is not unlike a feedback loop, and suggests that what we can learn from the environment has to do with the effects caused by our own impositions.
