Khanh Dang Xuan is currently in his final year studying film at Queen Mary, University of London. His international and diverse background stemming from his exposure and immersion in the Vietnamese, Czech and English culture defines his distinct style in making films. Khanh’s passion for filmmaking can be traced back to his early years when he started to film martial arts videos with friends, gradually discovering the beauty of the art of film and its endless possibilities. This has led to his determination to pursue a career in the film industry. Khanh’s subtle understanding of film and attention to details allow him to draw the audience in through his creative direction. Before his short Taste, Khanh has directed commercials and promotional videos such as for the Czech National Television and the British Council.
We have made this film as a group of students who are from all different backgrounds but found ourselves drawn in by London East End's vibrancy and charm. This short is shot in Bethnal Green and expresses the magic blend of the East End.
