Director Biography - Sean Hodgkinson

Sean Hodgkinson is a writer, director and producer. After finishing his first degree in Environmental Policy and Geography at Brock University in Canada, Sean returned to Trinidad where serendipity allowed him to attain his dream working as a production coordinator in the industry he wanted to be a part of. Sean pursued a certificate in Filmmaking from the London Film Academy in 2009 and has enjoyed consistent success since. In 2010, he started writing his first screenplay and two years later, A Story About Wendy premiered at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival (ttff) 2012, the film’s success inspired Sean to write A Story About Wendy 2, which premiered at the Zanzibar International Film Festival in June 2014 and also screened at the ttff/14 where it won the People’s Choice award for Best Narrative Feature. Trafficked is Sean’s second feature film, copping the award for Best Trinidad and Tobago feature at the ttff/14, and has since screened in several international film festivals in Cannes, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. “The Weekend,” is slated for release in late 2017.
