Julie Magneville was trained at the Ecole Supérieure de Danse de Cannes Rosella Hightower, the Lyon Conservatory in Contemporary section as well as The Ailey School. As dancer, she has worked with many choreographers: Donald MacKayle, Chet Walker, Matt Mattox, Ralph Paul Haze, Milton Myers, Larrio Ekson, Guillaume Bordier, Bruno Agati, Lionel Hun. Through Spring Board Montreal, she has collaborated with Margie Gillis, David Earle, La Compagnie Flak, O Vertigo and Victor Quijadas, Gregory Dolbashian and has also performed in Crystal Pite’s Expectico for Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal. She was a soloist in Rick Odum’s Jazz Ballet and performed in Broadway Musical Tarzan choreographed by Sergio Di Trujillo.
She went to Isreal to do Gaga Intensive with Ohad Naharin.
She is in high demand as modern/contemporary teacher and choreographer for well-known schools(Stage School Zurich, ESDC,Académie Internationale de la Danse, Dansimpulz, Studio Harmonic, Les Étés de la Danse in relationship with San Francisco Ballet and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. She also assisted Tokyo Inouye Kevin in Pascal Obispo’s musical Adam and Eve.
She collaborated with the Taiwanese visual/media artist Ivan Liu on the theme of consciousness, the French interdisciplinary artist Laurent Barnavon on the Lève toi et…creation, as well as, with the director Pierre Nogueras on the Romeo/Juliette and Tempo clips.
She is the Artistic Director and Choreographer of her own company, sponsorised by the Paris Opera Star Monique Loudières.
Moreover, she is a certified Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga teacher and a member of The International Dance Council recognised by UNESCO.
She has been decorated "honored teacher" by Huaqiao University in Quanzhou and a partnership until 2018 has been made.
Finally, she is also one of the choreographers for the famous TV dance program So You Think You Can Dance. She is right now involved in a new dance program, Alors On Danse with Ish Ait Hamou.
