Director Biography - Serafín Mesa García

He pictures her self as a teacher who show the procedure used to compose his film and stage improvisation. At 2016 he finished his Thesis studies (PHD), with the title; Reversible Representation. Animation and dance: audiovisual productions and teaching transfers. Also started to teach Graphic designs subjects at Fine Arts in Málaga University. In 2015 he developed ‘Entintamientos’ a scenic piece -relating animation, draw and dance in the stage- which been finalist at the La Caldera Creation Centre For Dance And Scenic Art. Entintamientos at the moment gets two art residence; one in the CND Spain, National Dance Company of Spain, Madrid and other in La Calderea Les Corst in Barcelona. Their films had been shooted in LGBT festivals in Europe, North and South America. In 2013 re:formas +eroticaSolar one of his films from this research was winner in the Movilfilmfest awards at Budapest. In 2014 started to teach at the University of Málaga in Fine Arts Faculty, 1st Course of video edition: Videoclip and VJ (VideoJockey).

He develops his career mixing his knowledge as a dancer with the plastic work, researching the relationship between the live action and the recording, expanding the choreographic project toward the postproduction in real time or with video edition software. Applying his techniques as worker in as graphical design, web programing and video to the body movement. In 2011 he started co directing an international group of artist calls Studio do Gozo configured by Alexis Muiños (performer and musical argentinian composer) Serafín develops task as video editor and animator.

From 2003 to 2010 mainly works as graphic designer in the areas, web and video editing, custom illustrator and animator, teacher of video postproduction with After Effects. Awarded filmmaker in Interconnects 2011 2nd International Dance Video Sample’ and Filmolaboral II under the International Film Festival of Gijón. Bachelor of Fine Arts in the School BB. AA. Alonso Cano of Granada. PhD student in the Faculty of Fine Arts San Carlos de Valencia. Master in Dance and Movement Arts at the Faculty of Science´s Sports from Murcia.

Director Statement

Spanish filmmaker and animator; Professor of Fine Arts of Graphic Design. Hard worker relating painting-drawing with dance and video in the same practitioner. Serafín's films had been screened in Festivals in Germany, Brazil, Ukraine, Hungary, Czech Republic, Argentina and even Spain. As a researcher he participates in artistic education and dance congresses, developing artistic production.
