OUR TEMPLE OUR TOWN

Chola kings constructed the holy temple of Shri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy at Gudur. It has been the most sacred pilgrimage centre to devotees for centuries.
The sacred temple water tank satisfies the needs of pilgrims with great splendour without water scarcity during all seasons.
the present status of this glorified ancient sacred water tank which was once the source of clean drinking water for several thousand devotees.
Now this tank stands as the testimony for human selfishness and negligent attitude.
This has become an expedition place for pigs and an area of excretion now. It has turned into a reservoir of filth, disease and stench.
This temple tank has completely declined to a miserable state.
No one ever wants to acknowledge the fact that it was once a sacred temple tank. This generation only knows this place as a dirty hillock.
It is the responsibility of each and every one of us to put an end to this sad state of affairs.
If we can join hands, anything can be achieved.
Our temple, our town [Gudur]
Our own growth and our town’s future are based on the development of the temple.

About This film,I was born and brought up from Gudur, Nellore(DT) Andhra Pradesh, INDIA.
i have seen people throwing garbage here, and using the place as a toilet.

There is no pond here anymore, and no one even knows that it was once a Holly pond.

It is very unfortunate that people come here to consume alcohol, and leave the place littered with bottles.

Very sad to say that the place is completely polluted.

It is the responsibility of each and every one of us to put an end to this sad state of affairs.

The only way to do that would be to revive the tank and bring back its past glory.

While such a task may be impossible for just one person to accomplish, it certainly is within our power if we all come together and join hands to give this holy tank a new lease of life.
