Director Biography

Sean Foy is a filmmaker, professional freelance DP/cameraman and editor, a writer, and burgeoning FX artist.

After earning his degree in Finance and Computer Science from Lehigh University, Sean completed an abbreviated film program at NYU. Shortly thereafter, he directed, shot, and edited the documentary Charging Across America about an historic cross-country journey in a 1912-built electric car.

He then relocated to Los Angeles for a number of years, where he directed commercials and an award-winning Jumbotron series for the Angels baseball team, and filmed numerous spots for the Anaheim Ducks and Minnesota Wild hockey teams. After returning to the east coast, he went on to direct and/or shoot web ads and TV commercials and shows for the likes of Samuel Adams, MSNBC, Fox, and CNBC.

Having directed and/or filmed over a dozen shorts, his work has been on display at numerous film festivals around the country. Among other projects, he is currently creating a series of sci-fi short films, Adventure Girls, with his two daughters.

Director Statement

This film was created as a part of the Boston 48 Hour Film Project. Our team, "In the Leaves Productions" was formed specifically to compete in the 48-hour fests. I formed the team from a collection of friends and colleagues in the Boston area in 2011. Because most of the members of our team normally worked in a more corporate environment, the team represented each member's urge to work more creatively. Every crew member was invited to our Friday night writer's session, followed by all production work on Saturday. A rough cut was available on Saturday night, and the final edit was completed on Sunday. (We did, however, tweak that edit a bit, to what you'll see here.)
