Lina Csillag (1995) was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and moved to a small suburban Danish town, Allerød, when she was nearly six years old. When she started at university in 2015, she decided to kick-start her film-career beside school, and was a runner and assistant for several short film productions. She later began to plan 'Copenhagen Central Station', which was shot in August 2016. She founded her film production company 'Astri Productions' in 2016. She is currently working on producing her next short film 'Happily Perfect', which is going in production in August 2017.
'Copenhagen Central Station' is a special film to me, both due to the fact that it was my film-debut, and to the fact that it was a surprise wedding anniversary gift for my parents' silver wedding this January. I have modernized and adapted their first encounter for the screen, and the film is quite true to the original story with a few added artistic liberties. One of them being my little personal statement about the current public behavior of individual isolation through screens and devices, which stands in contrast to my parents' story. It was important for me to romanticize accidental romance and emphasize the importance of taking unorthodox chances in the public space.
