But one day, his shoes were broken by a dog. He finally got a good reason to buy a pair of new shoes. In shoe store, he forgot the shoes size, then he run back home to fetch the ruler. Buy when he got back to the shoe store it was been closed, for it was too late. He was very disappointed. Someone asked him why not measure the new shoes with his own feet ? He said: "My feet is used to walk, the ruler is used to measure. I believe the ruler more than my feet." This story satirizes people like scholar Zheng, who is stubborn, clinging to the dogma and don’t know versatility.
