Director Biography - Lidiya Huzhva

Born 1976 in Kyiv, Ukraine

Graduated from Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany in 2009 as a creative film producer
Back in Ukraine worked as a screenwriter, producer, and director for several TV projects
2013 -2022 worked as a video reporter and streamer at several hot points in Ukraine

Premiere at Busan International Short Film Festival in South Korea, finalist in «Minikino Filmweek", Indonesia,

2014: created my own youtube channel «LidiYaFilms» and shot several shorts about my own experiences of war in Ukraine. All short films were included in the program of several international film events.

Director Statement

I witnessed, how my homeland was in danger of disappearing from the Earth's political map.
This deadly threat gave birth to resistance, and gave me hope, that Ukraine would break out of the post-Soviet bog.
I wish future generations to see, what I saw.
