Manchester Keeps on Dancing
'Manchester Keeps on Dancing' is a feature length film that documents - in exceptional detail - the arrival of House music into Manchester from Chicago in the 1980’s, through to the Acid House explosion of 1988 and the following 30 years of its phenomenal rise to today.
This documentary, by Madrid filmmaker Javi Senz, goes much deeper than just the Hacienda. Instead it digs into archive footage never before been seen on film, alongside in-depth interviews and memorable stories to help the viewer understand why this new electronic music first landed in Manchester and how the city embraced and developed it through the decades.
Contributing to the film are a host of top DJs and Producers including Greg Wilson, Mike Pickering, Laurent Garnier, Andrew Weatherall, Justin Robertson Dave Haslam, Luke Unabomber, Seth Troxler, Carl Craig or Marshall Jefferson among others...
IMPORTANT: We are doing a re-edit with exclusive footage from The Hacienda filmed by Tony Wilson himself. New version soon.

Javi Senz is a TV director and producer passionate about music, who shot the documentary in his spare time, whilst employed by Manchester City FC. He felt the musical heritage of the city and also the creative vibe of it, and decide to tell the whole history about how house music arrived in Manchester and spread around the world. Going deep into the essence of Manchester.
Worked for 11 years at MTV Spain where he learned everything about TV and the music industry. Always working closely with music starts and interviewing a lot of them.
Living in Manchester for 3 years and loving electronic music made me felt that I was in the right place to do something special and leave my little seed in the city.
This was a very small project, with a very small budget that become bigger thanks to the welcoming of the people from Manchester. Their warm welcoming and help with the project made it bigger, so I´m really thankful to the people of Manchester, they made this possible.
Thanks!
