Nail

'Nail' follows the story of Dominic, a young man struggling to navigate his identity and the complex relationship he has with his family, and, most notably, his Father. Drowning in an ocean of thoughts, Dom desperately fights against the idea of being anything like the volatile man he has disparately come to know. "So, could the apple fall far from the tree?” is the paralyzing question that pushes Dominic into fear that his roots are fated, and, immutable.

'Nail' contends with the universal struggle of the relationship we have with ourselves, where we’ve come from, and the outside world. As the narrative unfolds, Dominic’s world prevails, and he combats his past, learning to let go of the thoughts that circle inside him.

Director Statement

"When I first read ‘Nail’, it instantly caught my attention due to its simplicity and realism. One of the major strengths of the script is the connection between audio and visuals, and how it allows the viewer to understand the character’s inner drama and experience the film in a deeper and more meaningful way. Through a sensitive and naturalistic approach, Nail will explore Dominic’s relationship with himself and the outside world. I am so excited to begin the beautiful challenge of creating this film. "
