Slutsville

Sofia is a queer, broke, shamelessly slutty twenty-something, and she's desperately looking for a way to make some quick cash after an awkward incident involving a stray butt plug gets her fired from her job. With the help of her pansexual best friend Jake, she sets out on a mission to find herself an online sugar daddy and reboot her life. Despite the many ghosts of her past and struggles with mental illness that threaten to derail her plan, Sofia is determined to scam her way to success and hit the patriarchy right where it hurts: the bank account.

Writer Statement

Slutsville is provocative, hilarious, and shamelessly sexy comedy inspired by creator Sofia Barrett-Ibarria's experiences at the intersections of queer identity and mental illness. This work is a deeply personal story rooted in a strong belief in the beauty of close friends and chosen family, and the power, joy, and comedy of sexual discovery. Sofia Barrett-Ibarria's raunchy comedic sensibilities aim to counter rampant slut-shaming, misogyny, and homophobia and tear down the white supremacist patriarchy by honoring and empowering the slut in each of us. Slutsville is more than a comedy. It's a pro-sex worker, anti-capitalist revolution.
