Writer Biography - Xavier Ruffin

Raised on Milwaukee’s North Side, Xavier Ruffin is a designer, writer, director, and illustrator who aspires simply to be inspirational. Coming from the nation’s most segregated city, Milwaukee Wisconsin, Xavier Ruffin’s focus is on pushing boundaries and challenging perceptions while promoting diversity in his creative works.

Xavier received a Bachelor’s of Fine Art from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and has gone on to produce illustraions, commercial design, video projects and social media campaigns for many clients including the recent hit FX series Atlanta and Legion. Xavier has also been featured Ad Age, NPR, Shadow and Act as well as Indiewire for his own web series efforts and plans to continue creating thought provoking and diverse media.

Writer Statement

My goal is to tell stories that feature complete and complex characters for those who have been underserved for so long. I want to create a mirror for viewers to see themselves in an alternate reality and enjoy what could have been if they made different choices.
