Eavvon O’Neal has been deeply involved in the creation of media across several platforms for over 10 years. Starting traditionally through CNN, under Dr. Sanjay Gupta, he quickly rerouted his creative strengths and began writing for media outlets such as Vibe, Nylon, Urb, The Village Voice, Juice (Germany) and XXL. He parlayed this experience into a Producer role at Pitchfork Media, overseeing the production of several flagship series in various genres of music, and curated the company’s extensive music video archive. Parting ways with Pitchfork in 2013, Eavvon has gone on to direct for Boiler Room TV, Fader Magazine, Def Jam Records, Obey, Mishka, Ford, GoPro, Jim Beam, Vice, Downtown Records, Genius.com, Creem Magazine, Entertainment One and Wolf & Lamb Records. Through these projects he’s created pieces with Talent such as Danny Brown, A$AP Rocky, French Montana, Freddie Gibbs, Common, Jeezy, The Flaming Lips, The XX, Phoneix, Jane’s Addiction, Bon Iver, Tame Impala, ArrabMuzik, The Clipse, Big Boi, Killer Mike, Carrie Brownstine, Riff Raff, Liars, Fred Armisen, Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown, 50 Cent, Future and Zoe Kravitz.
I've always been interested in subverted humor and how our society folds in on itself. I love to explore stories that unveil the universality of "urban" narratives.
