Iannis Aliferis studied Creative Writing at Middlesex University in London and has completed acting courses in Western Australia at the WAAPA and at The Bull Academy in London. He has performed on stage and in various independent films, most notably in projects for Borderline Shorts Ltd and Evergreen Media Europe Ltd. Acting and writing were followed by a large interest in the actual formation of film projects, so in 2009 Iannis completed various film-making courses at Raindance and also attending the Guerilla Film-making Masterclass Weekend course. In 2009 Iannis directed his short script 'Exodus', which was produced by Borderline Shorts Ltd, a film that won the Johnson Trophy for Drama in the same year and a BIAFF 4 Star Award in 2010. He followed that by writing, producing and directing the feature play 'A Priest in Love' which was performed in The Network Theatre in Waterloo. Iannis has produced various short movies since then, has written and directed 'Lady Crimson', 'Ambrosia', 'Ethel' and most recently the horror short 'Flesh'. He has directed 'Six Seconds To Die' and written and starred in 'Headz'.
It was an absolute pleasure working on ‘Raw’ in Sunny Piraeus, Greece. The immediate challenge with making this video was to capture the essence of the film without compromising on the metal nature of the song. We wanted to see the band in their natural environment, the studio, doing what they do best, blasting away their unique take of heavy metal and loud rock, and we wanted the essential beats of the narrative to fuse right in there. In the end, we got what we wanted, a kickass tune and the psychological horror of a loving fiancé, slowly turning into a flesh eating psychopath.
