Director Biography - Allan H. Johnson

A life-long film buff, Allan H. Johnson is relatively new to filmmaking. With a professional background in graphic design, photography, and advertising, he brings to his films a sense of the emotional and narrative power of the visual combined with a style influenced by the best of classic Hollywood. His first two films (7-minute shorts,"The Door" and "Ave Maria") were both Official Selections for Speechless Film Festival in Mankato, Minnesota, where Ave Maria received an Honorable Mention for Made in Minnesota category. What he enjoys most about filmmaking is the opportunity to bring together a wide variety of skills at once--writing, photography, design, typography--to tell a story and create interesting pieces that make people think. He lives and works in Minneapolis, MN.
