James Lyones hails from Chicago, IL. From an early age, he loved the way TV and film affected his life: a great show made him feel good. He always wanted to pass that feeling onto others, so he asked two friends (also in the industry) how to get started. Fortunately, they put him on the right path and he began to seek out roles for himself.
An active fire chief, he threw himself into acting after landing his first role on the hit TV series Rescue Me...as a firefighter. This random opportunity led to Lyones' pursuing acting as a full-time career, resulting in roles on other prominent TV series such as 30 Rock, Blue Bloods, The Good Wife, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
Lyones is also an Air Force veteran who resides in Newark, NJ. A father, he has traveled the world over and says his favorite locales include Mexico, Aruba, Bahamas,Jamaica, St. Lucia, and all things tropic.
Personable and adventurous by nature, Lyones once convinced a pilot to allow him to take the controls during an airline flight across the Dominican Republic while the pilot 'guided' him. He believes in "living every moment," and constantly seeks ways to enhance his abilities.
Lyones is creator of the upcoming film ARSON, the story of a decorated career firefighter enticed by greed and revenge that recruits a band of rogue firefighters on a path of money, and destruction with deadly consequences as well as his latest project, Last Days, a short about a loving husband and how he copes with a terminal illness.
In making this film. I want to bring awareness to the plight, sacrifice, and suffering of the loved ones of of terminal illness victims.
