Director Statement

Listening is the key to communicating, and the characters in this piece exemplify what happens when people refuse to listen to each other and focus on only what they want to hear. After having worked with writers and actors who believed their vision was the only vision, I asked the question, "What would happen if the stakes were higher?" The actors in this short were perfect because they nailed down the dynamic of the failure to communicate, and brought the characters to life, answering the question, "What happens when people only see one point of view of a situation?" An utter lack of progress.
