Ben Rodriguez is a filmmaker and comedian, and recently completed the Fox Writers Intensive and CAA Writers Bootcamp. He’s the creator and writer of several digital series including PUSHY RIOT, which premiered February 22, and for which the TV pilot was a finalist in the 2016 Fox Writers Intensive; MARIconBEN, a Spanish/English comedy whose first four episodes were released last year, and another several episodes premiere June 2017; and STRICTLY VERS, a digital series based off Ben’s stand up, premiering Fall 2017. He’s also currently writing the TV pilot for FAT GAY DUDE, a half hour comedy project that was a 2016 Finalist for the Sundance YouTube New Voices Lab, and rewriting theSQUAD, another original pilot that was a 2015 Finalist for the Sundance Episodic Lab, in addition to writing the TV pilot for MARIconBEN (based off the digital series). You can catch two of Ben's shorts on the festival circuit: ALPHA, which premieres at FilmOut San Diego in June 2017, and BETTAS, an official early selection for the Oscar-qualifying Rhode Island International Film Festival, and the winner of IFS Film Festival - Best LGBTQ Short. Ben graduated from the USC School of Dramatic Arts, has been supported by Film Independent’s Project Involve, and currently studies improv at Groundlings and sketch at the Actors Company. He performs stand up all over LA, and improv with his teams Human Resources and Primitive Streak.
