All Together
The civil war in Syria, ongoing since March 2011, has caused an inevitable refugee problem. Millions of war victims who wanted to take refuge in various parts of Europe took a dangerous journey at the risk of their lives.
The main route to Europe was crossing the sea from Turkey to the Greek Island of Lesvos. There, local and foreign volunteers who embraced these people coming by sea did their best to help ease their pain.
They are the ones who show us that there are no boundaries between people and that we are all equal and need to be together.
In this human tragedy, these volunteers are the light of hope...

Nejla Osseiran, a Turkish-Lebanese photographer, worked as a teacher for many years. Her photos are social documentaries mainly concerned with human rights issues such as identity, poverty, working children and forced evictions. She has been making documentary films related to these issues since 2010.
