Payam Kaveh Imani is a California Native of African-American and Persian decent who has also hails from Boston, Iowa, New Mexico and NYC. He began his studies as an Architecture Student, but finished his undergraduate work in Apparel Merchandising, Design and Production at Iowa State University. While a student at ISU, he worked in Los Angeles for the Bohemian Society, which is Victor Wilde's renegade art & fashion house. He also worked for J.Crew Menswear as an assistant designer of footwear and accessories. Post graduate studies continued for Payam in Fashion and Film at the Academy of Art University where he completed an MFA in Motion Pictures and Television: Directing.
While at AAU, Payam Co-founded Alchemy Collective, a worker-owned Cooperative Cafe and Coffee Roaster of which he has been the primary aesthetic author and branding designer. With great financial success and stability in the coffee business, Payam was able to finally develop the PAYAM AIR SPACE AGENCY (PASA). PASA represents the culmination of his pursuits in Architecture, Fashion and Film in a firm devoted to design problem solving and film studies. PASA pays homage to the Utopian Architects, Designers and Science Fiction Novelists of the mid-century.
Currently as the Principal owner of PASA, Payam leads every aspect of the business including the Merchandising, Design and Production of Apparel, Film and Music. In a pursuit to explore the world and it's people, Payam has made it his mission to shoot photos and videos of the PASA products in as many locations as possible with as many people as possible. The result is a truly universal and timeless brand aesthetic that urges us to push our imaginations and never stop exploring the potential of our ingenuity.
I'm a Retro-Modern Utopian Architect in the design studio and Science-Fiction Radical Feminist behind the lens. My aesthetics are timeless and my stories are universal. As a Designer + Director, Fashion and Film are equal parts of the same whole.
