Experiencing Interruptions?

Aquarians

Danny Sullivan, Catholic deacon and seminary student, reluctantly returns to his wintry Wisconsin hometown to support a dying priest, but is quickly pressured into reconnecting with his estranged, drug dealing brother, Jake. Director Statement

What makes humans unique among other living beings is not the ability to craft and use tools, nor that of making art, nor the logic and reasoning we use to shape the world around us. The most unique facet of the human condition is that we act on our emotional needs. Emotions and cultural conditioning drive our decision making, especially in the most profound choices with which we are faced, that affect not only ourselves, but those around us, and those who come after us.
In AQUARIANS, the protagonist and antagonist – two brothers – embark on different manifestations of the same journey: to acknowledge, and ideally overcome, the perceptions of guilt that steered them toward their current paths in life. Set in a rural community in the upper Midwest, AQUARIANS will depict the unique nuances of such a community, such as the presence of religion in daily life, local past times, and the way people interact in an intimate yet distant way.
It is my hope that AQUARIANS reflects its unique context in an entertaining way, and that it will resonate with men and women from all backgrounds who have been scarred by an event beyond their control and see the potential to overcome the obstacles that life presents, and those that we ourselves create.
