As an actor, Hala has worked on several locally-made films and series including The Man from Ballyduff, Global Meltdown, Horse Mask, and Best Before.
The idea for The Dog House flower shop came about as a girlfriend and I were talking about opening an actual flower shop. I said, "You know how guys always need flowers when they're in the dog house..." but then my imagination started going, and a whole backstory began to emerge about a man-hating, unlucky-in-love girl named Lola who puts the customers through the wringer. However, the customers keep going back because as awful as she is, she knows exactly what they need to get their women back. We made the trailer, and shot a couple episodes, hoping to option it to someone looking for a romcom TV series for all audiences.
