Experiencing Interruptions?

Exile

The Exile is a 45 minute documentary telling the story of Syrian and Palestinian refugees living in Beirut Lebanon and the border of Syria, all of them affected by war and conflict. Sparked by the Syrian war, the producer travels to Beirut to find out firsthand how the war has changed the lives of ordinary people. The documentary features women and children who've lost everything and now living in limbo. Some of them were born in camps while in “exile" but they live with the hopes of retuning back to a land they call home.

The film’s narrative unfolds through a series of story lines: The production team visit Burj-el Barajna and Sabra and Shatila camp in Beirut and El-Marj camp 15 KM from the Syrian border.
The refugees themselves share their personal story with the filmmaker. The stories of heartbreak, fear, hope and triumph. There is the story of Bayan, a 13 year old Palestinian, born in Syria. She wants to be a writer like Mahmoud Darvish and a football player like Cristiano Ronaldo. She’s been living in Burj-el Barajna camp in Beirut for the past 4 years, but her hope is to live in Palestine one day. A day she’s never seen before but calls her “mother land”.
This documentary is the story of hope and resilience. With the message that despite conflict, life goes on with hope.
