Vortex takes us into the heart of a fantastic story that
transports into the world of JAZZ, a young woman who does not know her roots,
whose life will shift because of the shenanigans of her sister by marriage: the unhealthy
Sacha - very jealous and endowed with dishonest intentions.

She will introduce Jazz to two faces Stone; trailed by an heavy past and an obscure present. This meeting will be the beginning of the descent into hell for Jazz.

In this interlope world where men have a hole in the place of the heart,
will Ana, the spiritual guide, save Jazz?
How will they open this door to the energy world of Jazz’s enemy?

Jazz will endeavour to exorcise the evil and finally return to her
Roots to appropriate her identity.

Director Biography - Jephte Bastien

JEPHTÉ BASTIEN_BIO.

Winner of a Genie for his first feature film Exit 67, Jephté Bastien studied montage and production at Collège LaSalle in Montreal, then photography at Collège Montmorency in Laval. His theatrical training at the Academy of Acting of New York led him to follow the workshops "Creating the director’s vision" at SIFT (The Summer Institute
Of Film and Television). He also studied screenwriting with Parlimage.

Jephté develops and produces television entertainment programs such as The Jackie Watson Show, Teen Music, Confession Box and Connection Live. Having several strings to his bow, it occupies different roles for these programs of which; the creation, production, realization, assembly and in certain and Post-production supervision.

As a freelance director, editor and screenwriter, he has also worked as DP and Editor on various television documentaries, including Caméra Tout Terrain (produced by Pixcom) and Throw Down (produced by Lion's Kill Productions). His short films Hope Station, The Babysitter, Border of Skin, and his Canadian French production, The Plague of the Century, Haiti Through My Eye, have mostly been nominated for various awards.
His remarkable success with Exit 67 has earned him several festivals such as Fantasia, the International Black Film Festival of Nashville TN, and the Black Film Festival of Berlin.
His latest production - the feature Vortex - an ancestral dictation as Jephté understands it, will begin the festival path shortly.

Jephté has a unique vision. The lens through which he looks at the world is sensibility. His deep commitment to cinematic expression has led him to a level of understanding that allows him to open his own window on the Seventh Art.
