The Package

Regg Skwarko was born in Indonesia and at the age of 3 his family moved to Perth, Western Australia. Between the ages of 3 and 22, Regg shuttled back and forth between the two countries experiencing two very different lives, cultures and traditions.

At 22, Regg returned to Perth and studied filmmaking at Curtin University. It was there that he became fascinated with After Effects, and as a result became one of the very first students in his stream to incorporate visual effects into his TV and film projects.

In 2007, his love and passion for visual effects landed him a job as a VFX compositor for an ABC TV docudrama called “Air Australia” which earned him a prestigious Australian Film Institute (AFI) nomination (now called The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards, AACTA) for Best Visual Effects.

Using the knowledge he gained from “Air Australia”, Regg returned to Curtin to not only tutor students in After Effects, but also directed a visual effects thesis project called “Focus Point”, the film gained attention in New Zealand and was part of the “Realm of the Senses” film festival.

His passion for visual effects and directing soon turned to editing and as of 2008 Regg pursued a professional career in editing.
Since then he has cut various programs in many different genres for both film and television.
As a feature film editor, Regg has won multiple awards and nominations in New York, India, Canada and Australia.
He has also worked alongside some of the very best editors in Australia including Simon Njoo (The Babadook), Nick Meyers (Paper Planes, The Rocket, Balibo) and Sean Lahiff (Wolf Creek 2, The Darkness and Jungle) to name a few.

As a director, Regg enjoys shaping and finessing the nuances of character development, performance and story both on and off set.

Regg is currently writing and developing his next directing venture, a series of supernatural shorts based on his experiences living in Indonesia.
