The Door

Efgan is a single and healthcare professional (nurse) at his thirties, who lives alone. His sister Hale is married and lives in another city due to her working conditions. Efgan's relationship with his father is superficial. One day, his mother invites him to visit Hale for the weekend. Efgan goes with them, though unwillingly. His sisters colleagues are also invited to dinner that day. Due to the lack of space and excuses for "all girls" and "all boys" talk, women gather in the living room, while men eat in the kitchen, drinking 'rakı'. Efgan's father, Nafiz, tells stories about his night life, without letting the young ones speak much. Efgan does not get involved in any topic, continues to eat with his head down, looking at his plate. One of the guests cannot stand the stories Nafiz tells at this point and based on the quantity of stories he has collected, he says that Nafiz does not spend much time with his family.
