Director Biography - Michael Indjeian

With over 16 years in advertising, corporate, programming and motion pictures as an award-winning Director, Producer and Writer, Indjeian has consistently delivered innovative projects for companies like Sony, Hertz and HBO. Amongst industry clientèle, Indjeian has built a reputation as one of the most dependable, creative and organizational leaders in the field.

Taking an early interest in all things cinema, Indjeian began his career in New York City in 1996 coordinating productions for high profile music videos like Diddy, Whitney Houston and Wu-Tang Clan. During this time, the rap video scene became a creative hot bed of emerging directors and cinematographers, those of whom Indjeian collaborated with.

As a Producer, Indjeian later joined Interlink Productions, who specialized in the medical side of advertising. Some highlights include Glaxo Wellcome's "Be Smart About HIV" awareness campaign starring Edward James Olmos, which became a huge success. With Roche, "Zenapax" was another successful campaign promoting the antibody used to prevent rejection in organ transplants.

Teaming up with 30fps Productions, Indjeian was appointed as VP of Production, where he served for 13 years and earned multiple Clio and Telly awards. The projects consisted of TV shows, spots and corporate long forms from clients like AMC, Pepsi, Avon, Gap, IRS and Port Authority of NY/NJ. On over 800 projects, Indjeian ran all production operations, simultaneously directing and producing the workload.

On top of his role, Indjeian founded Giddy Productions in 2003, where he wrote, directed and produced additional projects. "Lucky Day" was a break-through film receiving great acclaim and winning Best Dramatic Short at the Long Island Film Festival. A branding long form "Acting Success Secrets Revealed" notched a Telly for Best in Marketing.

On assignment in Los Angeles, Indjeian directed and produced several TV series and films. These include "Oh, Ms. Tracy" a Disney-superhero driven pilot, "Redneck Weddings" an edgy reality-style series, "Ancient Tomorrow" a non-fiction documentary series and "Monster and Me" a family-holiday feature film.

Back in New Jersey, Indjeian teamed up NJ TRANSIT and Stokes Creative Group, directing and producing two major projects. The first was an educational film "Chicken on the Tracks", which will be integrated into a statewide campaign raising awareness to the dangers of trespassing on train tracks. The second was an internal and public campaign detailing NJ TRANSIT's role in Super Bowl XLVIII - the first-ever mass transit Super Bowl.

Originally from Cliffside Park, NJ, Indjeian attended Virginia Tech graduating with a B.A. in Communication Studies/Film and has continued his education with notable industry experts like Robert McKee, Steven Pressfield, David S. Freeman, Darin Scott and Mark Travis.

Director Statement

What attracted me most to directing Redneck Weddings was easily the characters. From their hidden motives to their complete craziness, I worked with each actor to really exploit those idiosyncratic qualities that were so well crafted in the script. Ultimately, our actors really grasped what we were trying to accomplish and took that tone to next level. During filming, it actually got to the point where there was a collision course of character personalities, which we were able to fortunately capture on camera. For a sitcom like this, that spirit is essential. Having been in the industry for some time now, I have to say that the Redneck Weddings experience is one that I'll never forget and truly look forward to continue working with these wonderful characters that Catherine Natale so brilliantly created. Yee haw!
