The Shigawake Movie
Framed by the events and performances of the annual Shigawake Agricultural Fair and Music Festival, this atmospheric portrait of small-town life on Quebec’s remote Gaspe peninsula offers a glimpse into the rituals uniting this tiny Anglophone agricultural community, as they unite to host the biggest event of their year.

Director Statement
The Shigawake Movie is about a place i've been going summers since 2010 with my friends, most of who are the performers and organizers that feature. I first made a 42 minute cut with a license fee from the CBC, which aired that version on Absolutely Quebec in 2016. My feature length director's cut never materialized due to lack of funding, but this is a rough 1h15 minute edit of a film I hope to finish one day.
This film features one of my favourite places and some of my favorite musicians, who are all wonderful people. Hope you enjoy spending some time with us, in Shigawake.
