Erika Davis-Marsh is a film and television director currently getting her MFA in Production from the School of Cinematic Arts at USC. She was a finalist for the competitive Television Academy Foundation’s Episodic Directing Internship 2016. Erika just finished shadowing director Terrence O’Hara on an episode of NBC’s supernatural crime drama Grimm. She has shadowed directors Michael Spiller and Michael Weaver for three episodes of The Mindy Project. She is currently being mentored by Emmy winner Barnet Kellman in comedy directing. When she was younger she thought she would be a scientist. She earned a prestigious Air Force Aeronautical Engineering Scholarship right out of high school, but Broadway and the arts had a stronger pull on her, so she dropped that to take a chance on the arts. She originally specialized as a Musical Theater actress, but since she was always trying to play everyone’s part, she decided she might make a better director. While studying theater at UC Davis, she studied under British television director Sara Pia Anderson, and fell in love with directing for film and television. While at USC her music ear training has been the perfect combination for working as a sound designer. When she isn't directing, she is studying sound design and creature voice design under Academy Award Winner Stephen Flick. Erika would love use those creature design skill, while directing her first big budget fantasy film.
