A good woman’s cooking
Laurent Couegnas is the Chef and owner of Café Truc Restaurant in the 11th arrondissement in Paris. His cooking style is, as he calls it a « cuisine de bonne femme » ( which could be translated by « A good woman’s cooking ») , in tribute to our grandmothers recipes, to the French « bonne bouffe ».
Between the Gingham tablecloth, the mismatching silverware, the charcuterie boards and the warm atmosphere, coming in the Café Truc feels like coming back into a homelike place. It is also a pledge of a delicious meal made of simple things sending us back into our childhood, just like the sweet smell of a homemade soup. Then comes this unrestrainable desire to come back with our family or friends and share some memories, and this just homelike feeling.
