Director Biography - Blair Avery, Dustin Darr

Born and raised in Southern California, Blair began his career in film at the age of 18, initially working as a production assistant on various films and music videos. By working on films such as Terrance Malick’s Knight of Cups, he learned what it takes to create a film, and applied it to his own work, branching out as writer/director/producer of Perfect Nothings, a seven part mini series aiming to capture the counter culture of Los Angeles. It was an effort that would take two and a half years to fully complete. Now 23, Blair is working on a half-hour comedy pilot, as well as an independent documentary series called Insurgency Now. His most notable influences include Donald Glover, Ava DuVernay, Darren Aronofsky, Gaspar Noe, Hiro Murai, and Kanye West.
