Director Biography - Jaclyn O'Laughlin , Joe Dzikiewicz

Jaclyn O’Laughlin earned her master’s degree in multimedia journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has a passion for writing, filmmaking and photography, and has used those skills at a variety of newspapers and publications in Virginia and Washington D.C.

She currently works as a multimedia manager for a national association in Washington D.C., and previously worked as a photojournalist and reporter for an international news organization covering stories that ranged in focus from foreign affairs to general U.S. news on topics such as energy, politics, breaking news and broad societal trends.

She has won awards for her filmmaking, including winning the Jury Award and Audience Award for her film "Encaustic" that was made during the Doc Around the Clock competition held by Docs In Progress. In addition, Jaclyn has also won the Best Film Award through DC Filmmakers for a "Make a Movie In a Month" competition for a film about a WWII veteran, and she was honored at the Wheaton Film Fest as well for this achievement.
