CONTEST
The competition is organised by the Luna Plus Foundation. The Competition is organised as part of the 8th UKRAINE! Film Festival.
The competition is open to short films: documentaries, animated and feature films, under 35 minutes long, produced in 2021, 2022 and 2023: – Ukrainian productions, – Polish and foreign productions (productions related to Ukraine by e.g. subject matter, place of filming or participation of Ukrainian actors and/or artists).

FILM SUBMISSION

Send a link to the film, with or without a password, with unlimited time and territory access (e.g. Vimeo, YouTube). Passwords for links may not be changed during the selection period. The short film can be in any language. However, all films must include subtitles in English. Links requiring downloads (e.g. WeTransfer etc.) will not be accepted.
SELECTION RESULTS
Applicants will be informed of the selection of their film by email at least 30 days before the festival. The list of films selected for the competition will be posted on www.ukrainaff.com.
After receiving the information that a film has been selected for the festival programme, the applicant is obliged to provide materials concerning the film, including a demonstration copy in DCP, ProRes (MOV file) or H264 (MP4/MOV file) format in the highest resolution, stills from the film, the director’s photo and biography, dialogue list in the original language and in English and/or ready subtitle file in .srt format, technical information and the trailer within 7 days from receiving the information about selection for the competition. It is not allowed to send a demonstration copy with embedded English subtitles.

FESTIVAL SCREENINGS SCREENINGS
After receiving information that a film has qualified for the festival screenings, the applicant is obliged not to withdraw the film from the festival. Festival screenings will take place in cinemas and online. Online screenings will be available only in Poland and presented during the festival on VOD platform.
SCREENING COPIES
Screening copies should be submitted electronically in DCP or other format (allowing the creation of DCP format), after the Festival’s approval, within 7 days from the receipt of information about the film’s eligibility for the competition. The screening copies should be uploaded to the Festival server or sent electronically.
JURY
The films will be judged by a professional jury, consisting of representatives of film communities from Poland and Ukraine, and a social jury, consisting of women and men passionate about cinema (not professionally connected with the film community).
JURY AWARDS
We envisage the following awards in the competition: – Jury Prize for the best film, – The Social Jury Award for the best film, – The Jury may award additional prizes or distinctions, – The prize pool amounts to 1000 euros.
The members of the Jury shall decide by a majority of votes in an open ballot. Films selected for the competition also take part in the audience vote.
PROMOTION
The applicant consents to the publication of information about the film on the festival website, in prints and press releases.
For promotional purposes, the organisers may make film materials, including stills, a trailer or fragments of the film sent by the film rights holder available to the media, TV stations and partner websites.
FINAL PROVISIONS
The films qualified for the competition are made available to the festival organisers free of charge. During the festival, the films are shown twice in the cinema and online on the VOD platform. The awarded films are also shown at the end of the festival and during the next edition. In case of films of exceptional artistic value, the organisers may waive the statutory requirements. In all matters not covered by these Regulations, the organisers represented by the Festival Director shall decide. Submitting a film to the UKRAINE! Film Festival shall be regarded as acceptance of these Regulations.
Submitting a film to the Festival shall be considered equivalent to the consent of the participants to the processing of their personal data by the Festival for the selection and marketing purposes of the Festival (in accordance with the Act of 10 May 2018 on the Protection of Personal Data (Jour-nal of Laws of 2018, item 1000) and in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/ EC (GDPR).
