Director Biography - Alexa Ammossow

I grew up in Ashland Oregon, the home of The Shakespeare Festivals. My high school was a very arts oriented school because of this. I took fine arts classes every year as well four years of Mandarin Chinese. I was also a member of the Kiwanis Key club for and a member of the National Honors Society for four years. I am also a member of Kappa Delta Chi Sorority Inc., where I contribute a lot of my hours to service. With all of the art experience that I have had in the past I am very interested in filmmaking. I have been making some animation and stop motion videos as well as some documentaries. I really enjoy creating documentaries because I enjoy getting raw emotion and unexpected beauty captured in film. I would eventually like to incorporate my use of Mandarin Chinese into my films. I think it would be really interesting and fun to make films in a different language. I am very passionate about my artwork and I am always looking for new video ideas that I can create.

This short is neither a harangue nor a call to arms, but an intimate reflection on the things we carry with us that matter. These people are my grandparents. The film maker is myself. The subject is loss.
