Director Statement

GENERATION ZAPPED is a contemporary, powerfully moving, and thought-provoking documentary, which I connect to from a very personal place. As a mother of three I am deeply concerned with the shadow side of wireless technologies on my children and, not to mention, how it is sociologically impacting their behavior.

My film investigates the growing body of research on the alarming health risks associated with wireless technology, as well as what the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Telecom Industry don’t want you to know. Today, we encounter more then 100,000 times the levels of Radio Frequency (RF) exposure from wireless technologies than we did decades ago when the FCC first published its regulations designed to protect us. As a mother and as a citizen I’m concerned about the business ethics behind the wireless revolution and its ubiquitous use in schools, at work, and at home.

I love my technology yet I invite you to consider the case for honoring the precautionary principle when it comes to your wholesale adoption of wireless technology – simply slow down and “plug it in” until further research is complete. - Director, Sabine El Gemayel
