Sebastian Bonolis was born in 1998 in Rome, Italy. His parents are both classical musicians, so in his childhood he travelled all over Europe visiting all major opera houses and developing a particular attachment to art. From being an avid drawer, at the age of nine he started exploring cinematic storytelling through a number of stop-motion short films and at the age of eleven started experimenting with live-action. The real turning point occured at the age of sixteen, when he started working as a photographer and participating at international festivals with some of his short films, winning a number of awards. Now he is eighteen, working as a Director of Photography in independent productions around Italy, and attending the last year of high school. His short film “Naima” premiered this year in Cannes Film Festival, in the Short Film Corner section.
