Furu ike
A small girl ventures into a storm drain to retrieve her precious origami crane. Here she stumbles across a frightened water spirit, barely surviving in this last patch of nature in the midst of a growing city. With the girl’s help the ancient spirit is restored to its natural state.

Rob Corless is a graduate of Griffith Film School in a Bachelor of Animation with First Class Honours. Rob's directorial efforts include Furu ike (2016) animated short featured at Griffith Showcase at Cannes Film Festival 2017, Melbourne International Animation Festival 2017 and was a Runner Up in the Brisbane International Film Festival Centurion Short Film Awards 2017. His first film, Samuel of the Sea (2015), was included in the Griffith Showcase at Cannes International Film Festival 2016 Short Film Corner, the Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival and won Best Tertiary Animation at the 2016 ATOM Awards. Rob's studio, Erabot, created the animation for Sea Rogue (2019) with Millstream Productions. Horror animated short, The Well (2020), is Rob's latest animation project.
