MAYA

This film is a fictional thriller regarding the truth behind a superstitious MYTH of North Indian hindu culture in a narrative way. Monu, a 12 years old boy living in a village with his grandmother, discovers a coin while planting some plants. Later his grandmother tells him a story of a greedy house wife who once found a cursed treasure.
Scared, she took it to a sage, who tempted by the gold, told her to bury it so that later he could have it for himself. Was the ‘Holy’ man tempted by MAYA (Illusion)? Did the curse affected him? This film tries to bring the eternal question of MAYA into the picture using the concept of greed.

Director Biography - Akash Deep Sonker

I am Akash Deep Sonker, I got born in 26 january 1988 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh India. I used to watch cartoons during my schooling and used to draw my own character but thing which lagged was action. I wanted to put an action to my characters so I aimed my career as an Animator. Thus I finished my schooling and did my graduation in Electronics and communication Engineering from Pranveer Singh Academy of Technology in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. During my graduation I wrote some thriller story. Thus I made two graphic novels to portray my ways of storytelling. Then I did Post Graduation Degree Programme in Animation Film Design from National Institute of Design.
