The Religious

Ismail Husen, a common Bangladeshi middle aged religious man, lives in a countryside village. His neighbor is a common Begali Hindu man Bisshawjit Chkarabarti, a school master by occupation. His daughter Durga, reads in class four. One day Ismail Husen found Yakub, a young boy of his locality, on the way to his pharmacy. Yakub was very much worried about the present condition of the county while Ismail Husen avoided the topic blaming the ruling government. Moreover he urged Yakub supporting the Muslim Extremists believing them as religious. Ismail Husen left the conversation incomplete and went to his pharmacy as usual. In the pharmacy, a young boy of his locality met him expressing his desire of taking revenge against the aggression taking place against his community around the world. But Ismail Husen told him not to work against the mankind rather advised him to fight only against the enemies of God. However at the evening, Master found Ismail Husen while walking with his daughter. Ismail Husen expressed his willing to visit Master’s house on the following day. On the very next day, Ismail Husen went to Master’s house where he found a little crowd. He rushed to the master’s room being informed by a boy about the killing of Master by the Religious Extremists. Very soon he began to feel an internal crisis about his beliefs seeing the dead body and the splenetic and frightened face of Master’s daughter. Later he adopted the orphan girl from his inner feeling.
