Zanzara

In Argentina, during an hemorrhagic fever outbreak, the mosquito Zanzara realizes that she transmitted a highly pathogenic virus to a young girl while biting her.
When Zanzara visit the young girl again, her mom wants to protect the child and sprays some insecticides on the mosquito.

Zanzara is drugged out by the pesticides dive in a weird dream where cells and viruses are alive. Zanzara then understand how science can develop a vaccine for the people infected by mosquito bites, hence no more need to mass murder mosquitoes during outbreaks.

Director Biography - Boissiere Magali, Mikhailova Anastassia

The directors, Magali (France) and Anastassia (Russia/Canada) are PhD students that work in the Virology department of the Paris Pasteur Institute. They realized their first short movie, Zanzara, in 2016 to popularize a research project.
