Doppelganger

Born and raised in Kolkata, Sohini has always been a curious mind, a creative self and an intense learner. Being a scholar in academics, she completed her Masters degree in Microbiology in 2009 with a promising future in the field of science.

She left her hometown and came to Mumbai to earn her own living. Following her academics, quite conventionally she joined Ranbaxy as a cancer cell researcher but she was never satisfied with what was in the plate.

The creative self finally decided to take a turn and chose to nurture her talents pushing the artist inside. She got herself engaged in dance training and other creative activities.

Finally in 2013, Sohini started her journey on the path she was chosen for. She started her career in the film and television industry as an assistant director for a hindi feature film Dombivali Return. She worked as an associate director for various Corporate Avs as well.

She joined Ishana Movies in 2016 to assist the veteran director Anurag Basu for a a television mini series named “Stories by Rabindranath” which was aired in EPIC. She is currently assisting Anurag Basu for an upcoming mainstream hindi feature film.

Doppelganger is Sohini’s debut project as an independent filmmaker. This short film is conceived, written and directed by her.
It’s an original story and screenplay by Sohini and not an adaptation.
The film is produced by Alter Ego Films, a Mumbai based media house.
