Director Biography - Vincent Namatjira

Vincent is a young dynamic artist who lives and works from the remote community of Indulkana on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands, Australia
A great-grandson of the famous landscape watercolourist, Albert Namatjira, Vincent has become well known for his contemporary portraiture paintings, which explore identity reflected in the past and future.
The video titled …. was filmed on location at the Iwantja Art studio’s in 2016. Vincent directed the film which highlights his painting investigations into Aboriginal Leader Vincent Lingiari – the final portrait was then shortlisted for the Vincent Lingiari Award. The film also features the politicians portrait series which was shown at the Tarra Warra Biennial in 2016.
The film was shot, edited and produced by Melted Creative, Vincent would like to thank Jackson Lee for his generous contributions and skill throughout the editing and animating processes.
