Director Biography - Alex Vasquez

A student, a friend, a dreamer, Alex Vasquez has been intrigued by the world of filmmaking since the ripe age of 6 after watching Star Wars Episode 4. Since that day, he has watched hundreds of films, learning the craft and studying the techniques of many great filmmakers from the past and present. When Alex is not doing something film related, he likes to shoot photography, play the piano, play with his dog, and cook countless meals, mainly for himself but occasionally for others.

Director Statement

This film was both a pain and a treat to make. It being my first real attempt at creating a short film with a cohesive storyline, I decided to address romance in the 21st century where oftentimes, most people already know a lot about their love interest, not by speaking to them in person, but by stalking their social media. After many conflicting schedules with the cast and crew and my neurotic attempts at getting many different shots, I finally pieced something together I can be proud to put on my reel. I hope this film shows other romantics out there that looking up their love interests on social media is very normal... just be careful not to overdo it.
