We Are In This
In Chattanooga, Tennessee and the surrounding Tennessee Valley, six families from different backgrounds struggle to create a healthy future for their children. They face obesity, asthma, infant mortality, behavioral and mental health, school readiness, and the complications of chronic toxic stress. Relentlessly trying to meet barrier after barrier, success still seems unachievable.
WE ARE IN THIS chronicles these six families with different socio-economic backgrounds, racial identities, and family structures, all connected by the same fight to give their children basic healthcare. Reaching out for help, no one provides the support they need.
Meet each family and discover the local community leaders attempting to reinvent a failing system. Advocating for meaningful change at the community and structural level, these innovators challenge us to define community by opportunities rather than circumstances. Every child has the right to health.
