Marty has been involved with performing in one way or another. Starting as early as eight years old when he lip sync and recreate the choreography of West Side Story while playing the cast album on his parents’ stereo and leaping off of the living furniture. He performed in just about every Junior High and High school theater production and went on to college to acquire a BA in music vocal education with his major instrument being piano. After that he did a stint of teaching as well as being musical director for community theater groups.
Marty started later in life pursuing film making. It started out as being an extra for films in the New York and Philadelphia markets. He has appeared in films such as The Happening, Silver Lining Playbook, Safe, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close as a gospel piano player and as the orchestra conductor in Black Swan to name just a few.
It has only been during the past four years that Marty has begun film making. To date, he has approximately 26 films in which he has either directed, composed music, edited produced or written or a combination thereof. Mazurkas, which made its premier Nov., 2016 is Marty’s first attempt at a feature film and is currently in pre production for his next project.
I can say with satisfaction that this has been a successful first attempt at a serious endeavor and that I am truly thankful to have all involved help me make this dream come true.
