Anshu- Everest Calling
This documentary traces the dream of a simple housewife and mother of two and the pitfalls she faced on her quest. Despite the adversities mostly caused by nature, she held on her own and came out triumphant. Today, Anshu Jemshempa needs no introduction as she has already carved her name alongside the majestic Mt. Everest. Having scaled it twice, she endeavored to repeat it for the third time but nature had other plans. Despite the life threatening setback, she embarked on her fourth attempt only to be thwarted again by nature. However, Anshu is not one to be bogged down by disappointments and has again started harnessing her mountaineering skills for another tryst with Everest.
The documentary brings to the fore the trials and tribulations of a courageous and determined woman who had to make sacrifices on the personal front to achieve what she always dreamt of. For Anshu, scaling the Mt. Everest is not just a feat but a repetitive soul searching journey. She admits at the end that for her, this journey will never end and she will come back again and again.
‘Everest Calling’ salutes the endearing spirit of a true mountaineer for whom Everest is the love of her life.
