The Rose Order
In the year 2057, Collette Washington, a former mafia queen, tragically takes her own life after a long and arduous battle with the demons of her past. In her wake, she leaves behind a letter addressed to her granddaughter, Redeatha, offering a glimpse into the dark and intricate world of an organized crime ring she had established years ago.
The story takes us back to 2013 when Collette and her fraternal twin sister, Beth, find themselves torn between their loyalties. Collette remains faithful to their mother, while Beth aligns herself with their father, Taurus, a Jamaican drug smuggler known as Fada Plenty. As teenagers, the sisters encounter a young girl named Katherine, affectionately called Kat, who becomes intertwined with their lives and their criminal activities, assisting Plenty in selling drugs throughout their college years.
During their time in college, Collette and Beth become members of the sorority Alpha Sigma Psi. It is during their pledge period that they meet two distinct individuals who would play crucial roles in their future endeavors. One is Renee, a naive pastor's wife nicknamed Churchie, and the other is Nicole, a promiscuous college escort known as Nikki Nasty. Meanwhile, Kat remains outside the university system but remains closely tied to Fada Plenty, frequently engaging in playful banter with Nikki. Through a series of arguments, illnesses, mayhem, and even murder, these five women forge an alliance known as 'The Rose Order.'
Now, forty-four years later, Redeatha must come to terms with the loss of her grandmother while simultaneously navigating the threats posed by a futuristic iteration of the crime ring she once led. As she delves deeper into her grandmother's past, Redeatha questions whether she is witnessing the crumbling of The Rose Order or if she herself is an integral part of its twisted evolution. The story explores themes of loyalty, legacy, and the complex dynamics that arise when family ties and criminal enterprises intersect in a future where the shadows of the past loom large.

Tamika N. Lee (Tami-Lee) is a dedicated filmmaker, producer, and writer who approaches her craft with a deep hunger for knowledge and growth. She earned her BFA in digital film and video production from The Art Institute of Jacksonville in 2014, marking the beginning of her exciting journey in the industry. Joining TV Jax shortly after graduation, Tami expanded her skills as a camera operator, editor, and producer, collaborating with esteemed partners and creating impactful content.
Inspired by her mother, Bertha Barrett, LMHC, CCTP, a mental health counselor, Tami-Lee shares a heartfelt concern for mental health advocacy. In a labor of love, they jointly embarked on the creation of "Intake Talk Show," a video podcast aimed at informing and supporting individuals on their mental health journey. Through their collective passion, Tami and her mother strive to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Tami's journey led her to co-found Wonderline Media, a production company, in 2017, where she has crafted an impressive portfolio of work, including short films, documentaries, demo reels, and music videos. While she has achieved notable accomplishments, Tamika remains humble and believes she is only scratching the surface of her potential.
Born in New York City and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Tami draws inspiration from her rich multicultural background, with her father being Jamaican. Currently residing in Fayetteville, Georgia, she wholeheartedly pursues her passion for storytelling as she works on her first series, "Various Dread," a four-episode Horror/Science Fiction anthology that promises to captivate audiences with its captivating narratives.
“I’ve always wanted to be a writer; I can’t remember a time when I wanted to be anything else. One day, I went to film school and figured I’d direct as well, and I wasn’t too bad, at it but I never thought I’d produce anything. I hated the idea of producing any film project, even a music video. The Rose Order is more than just a project I did in film school- it’s my baby, and I realized that if this baby was going to become something then I had to find the money to bring the story to life. I love writing, and directing- but I’m glad I took it a step further on this project.
My grandmother’s journal inspired The Rose Order. I wanted to create women who were beautifully flawed and strong. She’s no mafia queen by the way, it was actually the lack of stories in that journal that inspired me. I wanted to tell the story of what it is like to be a woman in the crime world, and the effect it has on people in their later years. The story has lived in my mind for a very long time, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to share it with everyone.
