10/10ths
“10/10ths” is a measurement used in motorsport racing describing how hard the driver is pushing their car to the absolute physical limit. At 8 or 9/10ths, the driver is pushing their car extremely hard, but not to the absolute limit of 10/10ths. Pushed any harder and both the car and driver will ultimately lose control.
Are we afraid to fail? Are we afraid to “start the race” within ourselves? How often are we pushing ourselves to 10/10ths in our lives? Do we strive for the win or are do we settle with just being in the race?
“10/10ths” is a true story of dreams, struggles, and unwavering perseverance in grassroots motorsports. The story brings additional insight into the massive BMW community that includes Bimmerfest, Monterey Festorics, BMWCCA autocrossing, and so much more. Follow the journey of a team of everyday individuals, as they build their first BMW M3 racecar from the ground up in only 5 weeks to compete in the United States Touring Car Championship racing series. The trials and tribulations could easily shake the confidence of any competitive race team. This inspiring motorsport documentary is a quest for wins but brings unique life lessons… some harder than others.
This documentary is a collaborative endeavor between Executive Producer Marco Solorio, race team owner Joe Gaffey, and Producer/Publicist Suzette Mariel. “10/10ths” is single handedly crafted by award-winning filmmaker, director, cinematographer, editor, colorist, and music composer, Marco Solorio.

Marco Solorio is a feature filmmaker, published author, and international speaker as a 26-year veteran in the industry with many industry awards to his name. As owner of OneRiver Media, he has produced, directed, and lensed content spanning from commercial to feature film works. As a credited thought-leader in the industry, Marco has consulted for the likes of Pixar, Apple, and Google to name a few. Along with published books to his credit (including, “Rigging Your Cinema Camera”), Marco has also been featured in POST Magazine, DV Magazine, and countless other publications and online outlets like PostPerspective and Studio Daily. Marco enjoys giving back to the filmmaking community as an international speaker/presenter, with the honor at presenting at National Associations of Broadcasters (NAB), Hollywood Professionals Association (HPA), Broadcast Asia, South-by-Southwest (SXSW), Digital Cinema Society (DSC) and countless other major industry conferences across the globe.
The film "10/10ths" is more than a documentary motorsport film, but an example of a change in the filmmaking industry as a whole. Marco Solorio, the core filmmaker of "10/10ths", took it upon himself to essentially create the film, as director, cinematographer, writer, editor, visual effects artist, music composer, audio mixer, and color grader of the film. Marco's philosophy is that today filmmakers have the ability to use low cost gear to achieve high quality results, using today's vast technological advancements in digital cinema production and post-production.
Marco has worked professionally in the film/video/audio industry for 26 years and has collaborated with seasoned individuals in their crafts, however, it was his goal to undertake producing a film of complex magnitude and determine if one person could accomplish it. Marco acknowledges that performing all of the major production and post-production roles from start to finish has been the most arduous project of his career, but it has also been the best experience of his life. He believes that he can be an inspiration to other filmmakers that may not have the resources at hand but still want to make their own feature films. The making of "10/10ths" is a story but also a real life experience about overcoming challenges with a deep belief about stepping in to your potential as a person and assuming risk to achieve greatness.
